Our Goals

In 1997-1998, we identified issues to be addressed for the long-term improvement of the watershed, and to the benefit of local communities. These issues, along with goals, objectives, action strategies, and progress indicators are discussed in detail in the Monday
Creek Comprehensive Management Plan.

TOP GOALS FOR THE MONDAY CREEK WATERSHED:

•  To reduce acid mine drainage pollution in the Monday Creek Watershed in order to attain the highest possible aquatic use designation.

•  To increase public participation in, and awareness of, the Monday Creek Restoration Project and its goals.

•  To promote the sustainability of communities in the Monday Creek Watershed.

•  To preserve and enhance a healthy, functioning riparian corridor throughout the Monday Creek Watershed.

•  To reduce Non-Point Source pollution from sediment in the Monday Creek Watershed in order to attain the highest possible aquatic use designation.
